Access the San Joaquin Ridge, the Negatives, Fern Creek, Carson Peak, Devil’s Slide, Four Seasons, and more using the assistance of the resort ski lifts. Sierra Mountain Guides exclusively partners with June Mountain to offer backcountry skiing from our on-mountain Backcountry Ski Center using the lifts of the resort! Nobody knows the June Mountain backcountry like Sierra Mountain Guides, and we will find you the goods. Conditions permitting, we can enjoy 5,000 feet of backcountry vertical downhill for only a little more than 2,000 feet of climbing. Some of the best value backcountry in the Sierra!

We offer skiing in the June Mountain backcountry on a daily basis. Includes  avalanche rescue equipment rental (transceiver, shovel, & probe). Discounted lift passes can be purchased to gain the backcountry access.  Does not include rental of skis/snowboards with skins, snowshoes, or poles. Our partner store, Sage to Summit, rents backcountry skis. We do not rent splitboards but they are recommended for snowboarders and are available for rent from Mammoth Mountaineering in Mammoth Lakes.
